She’s just so beautiful when she sleeps. When her eyes close and she lets go of her day. A soft smile plays on delicate lips; I can watch the tension drain from her body as she finally and completely relaxes. She mumbles softly and This makes it worth it. The early mornings and the late nights. The hard work and the paying dues. The days on the road with the strangers and their sad smiles. It’s all worth it, as long as she is waiting for me when I get home. The squinty corners of her deep brown eyes when she laughs, and the glimmer of love in them when she smiles up at me. The way she finds my hand when I need it most; and that time she told me she’d never let go. When we snuck up to the rooftop with a bottle of wine and two heads full of dreams. We are the original sunrise dreamers She’s just so beautiful when she sleeps.
shifts, she pulls me in tighter; this is the favorite part of my day, of any day, of every day.

cOmPrOmIsEd DiCtIoNaRy !!!
I was reading a poem the other day and I loved every bit of it until I read some lines which disappointed me and is the sole reason for this post. I am not sure what the author of that poem wanted to convey but what I misinterpreted was something like :-
"A whore does not have a soul".
Anyways I have read and heard this quite a few times before and it has not made me feel any different anytime. I never did and said anything about it except feeling sad for whom we call "whores". This time I actually went on to search the meaning of this word and it didn't make me feel any better when I came across the following meaning. It was:-
whore- "A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain".
I was shocked to see such a meaning. I found it too derogatory as I strongly believe that the ones we call whores deserve a better word or a better meaning for this word. Why not meanings like:-
"A person victimised of hatered who deserves to be loved like any body else".
"A person working against his/her will just to make sure his/her children keep breathing".
"A person who is forcefully made to do things which resulted in the death of her soul".
I actually thought that the given meaning for the word whore should actually be the meaning of the word businessman. But when I searched for the meaning of businessman, as expected, this is what they had to say:-
A person engaged in commercial or industrial business, especially an owner or executive.
To HELL with such a meaning. Don't you all think the meaning of the word whore suits the word businessman much better???
In fact the second thought that came to my mind was that as per the meaning given by the dictionary, the major part of the world consist of whores, cuz at some point in our lives most of us have and are compromising our principles just for our personal gains and hence we don't deserve to be called humans but just fucking "whores" (with dictionary meaning).
I wonder how many such meanings need correction in our dictionaries.......

iT iS jUsT tHe wAy It iS !!!
The other day I had a late dinner and had too much of it. The whole day I was working on projects n stuff. I had not taken a single meal that day (Thank God my parents don't read my blogs!!). Its not that it was for the first time but I was really hungry that night. Anyways there were still few things to do in the project and I had planned a night out in the university along with my real hard working friends. After the dinner I checked for the time. It was 23:20. I had to hurry up real fast to catch the shuttle at 23:35. I packed my bag and ran for the shuttle stop as fast as I could. The snow outside didn't really help. I did not have more than 4-5 minutes to catch the shuttle. I ran on and in the snow and tried my best to keep my feet stable on the slippery road. In between I kept loosing my balance but I didn't stop. From far I could see the shuttle coming from left and going straight away from me towards the stop. Just then I lost my balance completely and I fell flat on the snowy footpath. Damn!! I got up and started running again. Finally the shuttle had halted on the stop and I was about 100 meters away. The shuttle stopped there for more time than usual. PJ, the driver must have seen me running and waited for me. Finally I reached and got in the shuttle.
"Wassup ma man!!" PJ greeted me.
"Not so gud PJ". I replied trying to keep my breath.
"Get urself a seat".
"Yeah, Thanks Pj"
"Back to school?"
"Yup"
Finally I sat on the seat in front and got settled. My friend was already sitting dere.
"What you guys do in the university at this time?" PJ asked.
"We have some project work and have to finish it". I replied.
"Must be really tough staying awake in the night? I wonder how you guys manage it".
"We have to stay awake sometimes in the night PJ. We can't even think about sleeping".
"God Bless ya ma man"
"Yeah, we don't have any other option. We have to get used to it"
"Yeah, you bet me kid"
"Guess It is just the way it is".
My reply had a bit of arrogance in it and I was not prepared for what was coming next. PJ waited for sometime as he must have been pondering over my reply and then he said,
"Yeah you are right. I have been driving this shuttle for T-H-I-R-T-Y F-O-U-R years now and most of the times I do it in the night and I guess I am K-I-N-D-A getting U-S-E-D to it". PJ's killer sarcastic reply slaughtered all the ego and whatever pride I had in me.
There was a moment of silence and then suddenly we all broke out in laughter. A big one. After a long time I had an honest laugh at myself. When we stopped laughing PJ looked out of the window and finished off.
"Yeah ma man...It is just the way it is......"

a RiDe tO rEmEmBeR!!!
Looking out of the window of Punjab Roadways bus moving just a little slower than Boeing 747, I could hardly keep my eyes open. I was travelling back from college to my home place. On the way a bike caught my attention as it was trying to cross the bus. I saw a nice sweet young couple--happily unmarried, with the girl hugging the guy from behind, a little tighter than usual and the guy, with his one hand, massaging her arm n trying to kiss it while driving with the other. They were talking romance with each other, basically what you would call getting-ready-to-make-out intentions. The whole scene made me feel a little more than jealous. At the same time I was happy seeing them enjoying their cozy happy times.
Finally thanks to the power of his Pulsar 180 CC, even with such distractions the guy managed to cross the bus. The bus driver must have been a pervert errrr... observer like me as he was also noticing the whole scene. I could smell the feeling of frustration the bus driver had as he saw the brand new bike crossing his old khtaara bus. Even though he wanted to but he could not press the race pad further since it was already on the verge of getting dismantled. The bike just disappeared in few seconds and it added to his frustrations but I felt better seeing them going away though not before I saw the girl kissing the guy on the neck--that’s love making for you :-p. I had missed seeing everything outside but not this. I threw my head back on the seat and tried ignoring the feeling of jealousy playing with my mind.
Obviously all in vain.
I was about to come out of it all, just then the bus stopped at the signal. I could not imagine my eyes seeing that outside the window. The same bike was down on the ground and under it was the guy. The girl was luckily not hurt and was standing alongside and the guy was struggling trying to lift himself up from under the bike. The bus driver gave them a smirky smile. The girl was simply looking at the guy as if she didn't do anything. Though she was not speaking at all still I could read her mind and it was something like, “Hey I just kissed you. You only were pulling my hand here and there. Stop looking at me like this. It’s not my fault at all".
I broke into a boisterous laughter.
I just could not control it. All the passengers who were once looking the small accident outside started staring at me. It was tough but the fear of getting beaten up by few fat aunties sitting in front of me helped me in controlling my emotions. Luckily the signal turned green, bus started and I managed to get out of attention. The uncoupled couple was still there, guy looking worried for any scratches on his Pulsar 180 CC and the girl in some other direction searching for her own lipsticks and creams that were scattered on the road. Ever seen such soul mates??
The rest of the journey was spent only in arguing with God that it was not my fault!!!!!

TiLL tHeN!!!
I was going around, taking a walk
Just happened to meet you somewhere on the way
We didn't share the same last names
But we did share the best moments I can say...
I grew up somewhere far away
But I never got so close to anyone
You were not a blood brother to me
But when you were there, Life seemed all fun...
We studied in the same college
We had the same close pals
We took rides on the same old bike
We chased the same pretty gals...
We never woke up early enough for any class
We never reached any lecture on time
Some days when we did make it to few
The Over Head Transmission worked perfectly fine...
I got nervous when I was about to propose her
But with your booster some unexpected confidence I drew
I had remembered every word and said everything right
Still I had the same "Rejected" response like you...
Sometimes you made fun of me when you were on a high
But you never forgot to say you luv me after every shot
Sometimes you argued with me you fought with me
But in the end there was only one shoulder on which you cried a lot...
If u hvn't recognized me yet, I wanna tell you one thing in the end
I am no stranger I am no alien, I am what you call a "Friend"
Waving gudbye is hard, by saying I am fine, I don't wanna feign
I promise I'll meet u someday, till den I'll go around n walk again...

WaLk tO rEmEmBeR!!!
I work part time as a desk staff at resident halls here on campus. Today early morning I had a shift from 8 to 12. Sitting on the couch with a desk in front, I was trying to study the concepts of "Shock waves" (Yeah I know tat sounds crazy!!). Anyways as I was trying to concentrate there was a beep from the elevator on my left which meant somebody was coming down. After a few minutes I heard a voice,
"535".
I looked up, a big guy around 6'4" and a girl around 5', were standing in front of the desk. They looked sleepy for obvious reasons. Must have had a loving night. The girl had unfairly sweet killer looks and the guy was undoubtedly lucky.
"Pardon", I said as I wanted to confirm the room number again.
"room 535", The girl said this time.
"sure", I replied back and pulled out their Id's from 535 pack in the box and returned them.
"Have a wonderful day", I wished them and they wished me back.
They went out from the automatic door. I could not help noticing as they were walking straight out. I was able to see them from far enough. The sky was little darker than usual. It had rained earlier. There was this cool morning breeze along with a bit of drizzle in the air. They were walking slowly, holding hands. The guy hugged the girl sideways. Just a few steps later the girl hugged him back. The girl kept her one hand in her pullover's pocket as it was cold but the guy was fine in his t-shirts. For some obvious unobvious reasons, guys never feel cold when they are with girls. The guy said something to the girl. I am not sure what that was but it had certainly made her smile as she gave that little shy look to him. Two steps later she looked up towards the guy who was already looking down. They came closer and the girl's lips touched the guy's for a second and they hugged a little tighter, feeling the rush of blood inside.
They kept walking.
The guy must have joked about something again as the girl had a boisterous laugh. She hit the guy on the shoulder and started palying around. She jumped over the guy's back and the guy held her legs and kept walking in a funny way. After few steps he pulled her down. They looked at each other, shared a nice warm hug, smiled and started walking in the opposite directions. It was one of the loveliest walks I had seen in a long time. It was certainly a walk to remember. They had lived one of the best moment of their lives in those few steps. Sitting little far away from them I was wondering If they were aware of it..............

mAn oF tHe mAtCh!!!
Cricket is one of those rarest of rare things which has never bored me (as if I am the only one in India of this category :-) ). I remember those days when it was just cricket that was running through my veins.
It was the summer holidays time. As usual I was playing cricket in the verandah alone. Hit the ball towards the wall and play it when it bounced back-- This was my way of playing cricket tournaments. That day, my mom was sitting in the room nearby, cutting vegetables and warning me to stop. I ignored her warnings as always. There were window panes just alongside the wall. It was safe as I had never broken anything in that section of the house ( record speaks itself ;-) ).
Australia batted first and scored a total of 20 runs ( it's room cricket na...). It was Sachin who opened the innings for India and McGrath was the bowler. The first ball bounced a little high and I left it. Oh nice leave (I was doing commentary also dumb!). Next delivery was a good length. Tendulkar tried to leave and there you go….McGrath strikes!!!!
Wrong judgement by Tendulkar.
Off stump gone.
The crowd went silent in disappointment.
Next batsman, Ganguly. OH! Beware of the short ball MAN! ( I told myself)
What a sight for the bowler!
Practice Ganguly Practice!!
Move your feet. HUH!!
India zero for the loss of two wickets.
Soon the scorecard was 9 runs for 6 wickets and all the wickets were taken by McGrath (I had not changed the bowler…lol!).
Then comes, Robin Singh, as always, to rescue India.
India needed 12 more runs to win the match.
First ball bouncer by McGrath. Robin singh could not resist the temptation and hooked it.
WHIP!!
Straight into the basket of vegetables and there you see the onions flying in the air.
Mom’s face turned red and those divine words came out instead of just scoldings. I didn’t hear anything (I was wearing helmet na..).
By the way it was a six in case you missed it.
Now only six more runs required to win. Mcgrath running towards the batsman, furious as always, tried Yorker, but oh it’s a full toss, Robin Singh can’t miss it even with his eyes closed.
SMACK!! There goes the ball, high in the air, directly breaking through the window panes and the crowd cheering India’s dramatic win. Wow!!!….
Hey Wait! What is that sound?
My GOD!! Mom in full flow, ready with the belan and all those divine words
@#$%^&*(@#%^
I was like, Mom it was Robin Singh and not me..
@#$%^&*()$%&
Mom continued….
I felt sad….very sad…
Hey not for the window panes or mom’s divine love for me but for Mcgrath.
So sad. He is a better bowler. May be it was not his day.
I thought and left the ground and waited for the man of the match award ceremony in the night, with Dad as chief guest...
